Dean, Professor, Counselor, Play Therapist, Family Life Educator, TBRI Practitioner

Darren is Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, a Certified Adlerian Play Therapist, a Certified Family Life Educator, and a trained practitioner in TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention).

In his therapy with individuals, couples, and families, Darren uses a variety of creative interventions.

As a play therapist, he specializes in working with children and their families and using a wide variety of techniques. Darren an experienced specialist in foster care, adoption, and childhood loss.

Darren holds master's degrees in elementary education, theology, and counseling psychology. His Ph.D. is in Human Development and Family Education, and he has been a professor of Child and Family Studies at Nelson University and an instructor at Baylor University.

 Darren and his wife have been married for 37 years. They have 4 children and have served as foster parents to 14 children. He loves spending time with his wife and family, reading, learning new things, and traveling.
